All core functionality provided by Widgetly—including live preview rendering, photo widget selection, style adjustments, clock formatting, and local city selection—is processed locally on your device hardware.
3Android Permissions Breakdown & Rationale
To deliver live widget features and home screen pinning, Widgetly requests minimal system permissions. Below is a detailed breakdown:
Used when selecting custom images for Photo Widgets. Widgetly relies on Android's native Photo Picker dialog—accessing strictly the single photo you choose, without reading your wider file storage.
Used strictly on an opt-in basis for Music & Now-Playing control widgets to display active track metadata and media playback controls on your home screen.
Utilizes Android's official requestPinAppWidget API to allow adding widgets directly to your launcher with a single tap.
Required to fetch city weather updates from Open-Meteo, load third-party advertisements, and process UMP privacy consent options.
4Third-Party Advertising & Mediation Networks
Widgetly is supported through non-intrusive advertisements. We integrate with Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) as our primary ad provider, alongside Google-approved mediation networks:
- Google AdMob: Serves banner, interstitial, and native ad units compliant with Google Play Ad Policies.
- Meta Audience Network: Mediation partner serving targeted or contextual advertising.
- Unity Ads: Mediation partner for video and rewarded ad inventory.

Weather widgets display real-time weather coordinates fetched from Open-Meteo based on your selected city. Widgetly does not track your physical GPS coordinates. Weather updates occur periodically on-device to minimize battery consumption.
